A pit-stop in Chiang Mai

I’ve got good wi-fi so am on a posting roll baby and determined to catch-up on a few missed weeks!

Ah Chiang Mai – recently heralded as being the best street food destination in Asia, you are one deceptively lovely city.

Easy to navigate with the help of the super cheap songthaew (pick-up trucks that act as taxis) which Z loved as they were shiny red and looked like mini fire engines, (no really), we spent 3 days chillin out, eating, exploring the fab night market and we even visited the zoo and saw some pandas. It was HOT though. I was sole parent one morning whilst Ben was laid up in bed with dodgy stomach…..and was lucky enough to find a park with some reasonably unsafe but functional playground equipment and Z and I had a good session of him running around and me running after him trying to ensure he didn’t keep putting random stuff in his mouth (stones, bottle tops….eugh). When does this oral fixation age end?! Actually….don’t answer that….

Thailand’s Ronald Mcdonald looking every bit the horror-clown-paedo-junk food king that he has potential to be.

Even monks need a quick refuel in the 7-Eleven. Or in the 7 (as they call it) as Thai’s can’t really pronounce 11!
